Why are You Reading This--Go See AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON!

May 4, 2015

The big story this week is that AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON has opened in North America! Go see it! Go see it again! For full details (spoiler alert!) click on the big picture of Ultron up at the top of this page!

Meanwhile, aeveral comics are coming to an end to make way for SECRET WARS and two final issues are profiled this week. ALL-NEW CAPTAIN AMERICA #6 sees Cap’s victory over Hydra’s mad plan in time for the new event!

Then Avengers Aficionado Rob Johnson contributes AVENGERS (2012) #44 wherein the world is coming to an end; in fact, a lot of worlds are!

Rob also contributes AVENGERS #204-206 from 1981! Earth’s Mightiest Heroes take on the Yellow Claw (Marvel's first Fu Manchu rip-off) and the little-known Thermal Man (who thinks he's hot stuff)!

And for no reason whatsoever, I’ve popped in SILVER SURFER (1987) #36, the issue’s intriguing cover leads to a hilarious cosmic comic contest between SS and...I won’t say who. And Cap has a small, if unnecessary, cameo.

Collecting Superhero Sculptures

Sample Superhero statues and busts are a very good choice for investing in the superhero theme. In time, they always appreciate.

Besides getting a good return from your investment, you will enjoy seeing the sculpture while you own it. And you can always keep it.

A fine example of a great sculpture for collecting purposes is shown below:

Bowen Designs Sabretooth (Street Clothes) Statue

Bowen Designs Sabretooth (Street Clothes) Statue

Description from the Manufacturer:

A Bowen Designs Sculpt. Much like Wolverine, Victor Creed was a victim of Canada's notorious "Weapon X" project, which sought to turn humans into weapons, either by amping their latent mutant abilities or by forcing mutations upon normal humans. Creed's "gift" from Weapon X was a healing factor, superhuman senses, and retractable claws. Now blessed with long life, his mind broken from the tortures of Weapon X, Creed became known as Sabretooth and he fell into Magneto's circle. This exclusive statue, limited to 500 pieces, brings Sabretooth to life, dressed in civilian clothes.
